Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri is an Indian actress who has gained fame for her role in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun as well as Beta Saajan. The 80s were when she started her acting career becoming popular due to her part of Tezaab. In the film, she co-starred with an established actor Anil Kapooor. In the following film, she starred in the movie Dil where she co-starred on the screen with Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dance in the early years of her life. As a young woman She began acting but was not successful as a lot of her movies were unsuccessful. Her career eventually took off and she became one of the most prominent actors in the Indian film industry. Following her marriage her husband died, she took time to rest from her acting career until she returned. She played a major role as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film that explores the struggles of women in India. Dixit received 15 nominations to win Filmfare Awards. She won eight of these. Dixit was also awarded the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her work in the social sector is well known.
